Gambia Wins First Game At The Country’s Debut AFCON Appearance
Appearing at Africa’s biggest football tournament, the Gambia national football team came out victorious in the country’s first game.
Ablie Jallow, scored the game’s only goal as the Gambia led the win against Mauritania. Jallow achieved the goal in the tenth minute with an impressive effort from outside the area by Musa Barrow, putting the team in Group F alongside Mali.
Despite being one of the lowest-ranked among teams at the African Cup of Nations the Gambian scorpions are daring to win the competition, especially with a s”true”>The win has been celebrated by Gambians both at home and abroad with appreciative messages on social media.
