The world’s most popular TikTok star, who became famous without speaking, has finally talked on camera, surprising many fans.
Khaby Lame, who recently became the most-followed TikToker with 144.9 million followers, is well-known for his silent reaction videos. He usually mocks complicated “life hacks” by showing an easier way to do things, using only his face and hand gestures.
If you’ve ever wondered what his voice sounds like, now you don’t have to. Khaby was recently heard speaking in an interview with Nas Daily. Since all his TikTok videos are silent, this rare moment shocked his fans.

ToggleIn an interview with CNN, Khaby explained why he stays silent. He said his reactions are meant to express frustration in a simple way, just like “shaking his head” at silly, overcomplicated things.
“I got the idea from watching videos where people made simple things look difficult. I wanted to show an easier way. The hand gesture happened by chance, but staying silent was a choice. I wanted to reach as many people as possible, and silence was the best way,” he said.
Khaby believes his facial expressions make people laugh, and that’s why his videos are so popular worldwide.
Khaby was born in Senegal and moved to Italy when he was young. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he lost his job as a factory worker and started making TikTok videos. At first, he posted dance clips, gaming reactions, and comedy skits. But his big break came when he started reacting to “life hacks” in his unique, silent way.
With just a shrug, a hand movement, or a funny look, he makes people laugh—without saying a word. Since his videos don’t have language barriers, they are easy to understand for people all over the world.
One of Khaby’s biggest dreams is to make a movie with Will Smith, who is rumored to be one of his fans.
Recently, Khaby passed Charli D’Amelio to become the most-followed TikToker. Charli, an 18-year-old dancer, gained fame in 2019 and was the first creator to reach 100 million followers in 2020.
Now, Khaby Lame holds the crown as TikTok’s biggest star—all without speaking a single word!
