Busta Rhymes Parties in Joburg, Offers $5,000 Reward to Recover Lost iPhone
American rapper Busta Rhymes, fresh off his electrifying performance at the DStv Delicious Festival, is making waves in Johannesburg, but this time, it’s not just for his music. After his festival set, Busta decided to enjoy the vibrant nightlife of Sandton, one of South Africa’s premier destinations for high-end entertainment.
The rapper was spotted at two of Joburg’s most exclusive nightclubs—Monarch and LIV Sandton. LIV, known for its high rollers and premium bottle service, was the scene of a memorable yet unfortunate incident. While Busta Rhymes was enjoying his night, an iPhone 12 belonging to one of the patrons was stolen.
In true Busta fashion, the “Touch It” hitmaker didn’t hesitate to address the situation. A video that has since gone viral shows him standing by the DJ booth at LIV Sandton, urging the clubgoers to return the stolen phone. Not only did he make a heartfelt plea, but he also put his money where his mouth is, offering a whopping $5,000 (approximately R86,638.50) reward for the phone’s safe return.
“Please bring it back. Let’s do the honourable thing. Let’s work within the African people and the way we are supposed to. Let’s do the right thing. That’s not nice,” he urged. Busta Rhymes added humor to his serious request, telling the crowd, “I want that iPhone 12, f**k you. I am not joking. I am smiling because I am happy. I am not happy about this lady’s pain.”
The club-goers were left both entertained and moved by his plea, but it remains unclear if the phone was returned or if anyone claimed the reward.
Aside from being a good Samaritan, Busta Rhymes was also spotted embracing the local culture, vibing to amapiano music, which has taken South Africa by storm. His presence at the clubs lit up social media, with fans loving his energy and connection with the Joburg scene.
This marks Busta Rhymes’ return to South Africa after 10 long years. The rapper has expressed his deep affection for the country and excitement about his visit. In a video posted on his social media, Busta shared, “THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP SO WE AIN’T NEVER GONNA STOP!! JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA THE DRAGON 🐉 IS BACK!! FIRST TIME IN 10YRS!! WE ARE GONNA SMASH THE @dstvdeliciousfestival TODAY!! I PROMISE YOU DO NOT WANNA MISS THIS!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥”
His performance at the DStv Delicious Festival was a major highlight, with festival-goers still buzzing about the energy and showmanship he brought to the stage.
Whether it’s his epic return to South Africa or his unexpected role in a nightclub drama, Busta Rhymes has certainly left a lasting impression on Joburg.
