Kobe Harris Turns Down $300K Offer on Shark Tank to Keep Control of His Business
Kobe Harris, a college dropout and young entrepreneur, turned down a $300K offer on Shark Tank to maintain control over his business. He started his lip balm company, Kobee’s, in 2019 from his bedroom at Loyola University Chicago. After hitting a $15,000 sales milestone, he decided to leave college and pursue his business full-time. Kobee’s offers natural skincare products and is projected to make $4 million in sales by the end of 2024. On Shark Tank, Harris sought $300K for 6% equity, but after a counteroffer from Kevin O’Leary, he declined, trusting his instincts and his mother’s advice to continue independently.
