South Africa’s Shaun Maswanganyi Sets New National Record in Sprinting in the US
Shaun Maswanganyi, the South African sprinting sensation, continues to make waves in the track and field world. At an indoor meet in Texas, the 23-year-old phenom smashed the South African record in the men’s 200m, clocking a blazing 20.41 seconds, surpassing the previous mark of 20.45 seconds set by Ncincilili Titi in 2018.

In June of the previous year, Maswanganyi astonished the athletics community with a scintillating 9.91-second sprint at an NCAA meet in Austin, Texas, propelling him to the position of South Africa’s second-fastest 100m runner, just behind Akani Simbine. Maswanganyi’s consistency and drive make him a formidable force in sprinting, with his sights set on further achievements.
