South Africans Urge Mbuyiseni Ndlozi to Break Free from EFF and Malema’s Rule
As the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) grapple with disappointing election results and the recent departure of key figure Floyd Shivambu, the party finds itself at a critical crossroads. Julius Malema, the party’s fiery leader, has responded with a defiant message, asserting that he is unafraid of losing more members to rival political factions. However, the silence of one of EFF’s prominent figures, Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, amid this turmoil, has sparked a wave of speculation and concern among South Africans.
In a passionate speech, Malema made it clear that he will not tolerate dissent within the party, signaling to potential defectors that their departure will not shake his resolve. This bold stance comes on the heels of a social media stir, where Ndlozi’s wife, writer Mmabatho Montsho, liked a post about the uMkhonto WeSizwe Party (MKP) by the now ex-EFF member, Shivambu. This seemingly small act has ignited rumors about Ndlozi’s loyalty to Malema and the EFF.
South Africans have taken to social media, voicing their opinions on Ndlozi’s position within the EFF. Emmanuel Munyai, a notable commentator, tweeted his view that Ndlozi should leave the party, especially after what he perceives as disrespect towards Ndlozi’s wife. “As for Ndlozi, he should be packing his bags and leave after the disrespect directed to his wife. Malema just proved what Boy once said,” Munyai wrote, alluding to past criticisms of Malema’s leadership style.
The sentiment is echoed by Thokozani Dolukhulu, who also suggested that Ndlozi should part ways with Malema and the “slowly dying party.” Dolukhulu’s tweet reflects a growing perception that the EFF, under Malema’s command, may be heading towards a decline, with key members like Ndlozi possibly contemplating their future within the movement.
Another user, MzansiKnight, highlighted the rapid unraveling of relationships within the EFF, particularly between Malema and Shivambu, and questioned what this means for Ndlozi. The tension within the party has left many wondering whether Ndlozi will continue to stand by Malema or if he will heed the calls from the public to distance himself from the EFF’s increasingly authoritarian leadership.
As the EFF faces this internal struggle, the question remains: Will Mbuyiseni Ndlozi break free from what many South Africans are calling the ‘cult’ of the EFF and Malema’s ‘dictatorial’ rule?
