Naomi Osaka Won Her First Round Match of the U.S Open Wearing A Mask with The Words, Breonna Taylor”

Naomi Osaka is only 22 years old, and she is becoming one of the top female tennis players of her time just like Serena dominated her era. Naomi is the first Asian and Haitian player to hold the top ranking in singles. Naomi is a biracial who embrace both of her cultures. Her mother Tamaki Osaka is Japanese and her father, Leonard Francois is from Haiti.  Osaka has been ranked No. 1 by the Women’s Tennis Association, and. She has won five titles on the WTA Tour, including two titles at both the Grand Slam and Premier Mandatory levels. Naomi is the highest paid female athlete.

She defeated the 23 times grand slam winner Serena Williams at the US Open finals last year. Osaka proved that her victory was no fluke when she claimed the top prize at the 2019 Australian Open again.

Naomi continues to prove herself on the court.  She is also demonstrating to be someone that cares about social justice as she walks with a Black Lives Matter Slogan T-shirt with yet another win for her semifinal match. She later posted on social media about the injustice against black lives. “I’m aware that tennis is watched all over the world, and maybe there is someone that doesn’t know Breonna Taylor’s story,” Osaka told reporters. “Maybe they’ll like Google it or something. For me, just spreading awareness. I feel like the more people know the story, then the more interesting or interested they’ll become in it.” She tells reporters
