Burna Boy Wins BET Best International Act

Nigerian Grammy awarding winning artists Burna Boy—has beats Aya Nakamura and six others to win the Best International Act category for the third time in a row at the Bet Awards 2021.

Nominees for the International act category – were France’s Aya Nakamura, Brazil’ Emicida, UK’s Headie One, Nigeria’s Wizkid, UK’s Young T & Bugsey, and France’s Youssoupha.

After missing the opportunity to collect his award in person in 2019, Buran Boy—made it this time to collect his award.
“I made it this time to collect my award myself,” he said during the award night.

The Nigerian born artist—is always proud of his roots and journey, which he shared on any given opportunity. At the Bet awards 2021— he urged his mum to speak a phrase in Pidgin English.

“I want to teach you guys a little bit about where you are all really from,” he said.
“Three-peat, that’s my third one, back to back,” he said in a video on BET’s social media page.

Burna Boy—continue his dominance in the music scene even outside the borders of Nigeria. For the BET Awards Best International act, he dominated the category over other great international artists.
He released ‘Outside’ in 2018 before his win in 2019. The release of ‘African Giant’ in 2019 before his victory in 2020 and his most recent projects Twice as Tall in 2020.

Other highlights of the BET Awards 2021, was Queen Latif’s Lifetime Achievement Award and rapper BMX special tribute.
